Spring replacement · Mississauga · 24/7
Heard a bang from the garage and now the door won't lift? That's almost always a broken spring. Our team at Ace Garage Door Services replaces garage door springs across Mississauga the same day, 24/7. Call 289-937-1645 and we'll tell you what to do until we arrive.
Spring repair
Springs do the heavy lifting. A typical door weighs well over a hundred pounds, and the springs carry nearly all of it. When one breaks, the opener can't lift the door by itself, and forcing it can damage the opener, the cables or you. Stop using the door, leave the opener alone and call us. Our technician will diagnose the door and, whenever we can, replace the spring on the same visit.

Check your door
From the garage, like something dropped. Many people hear it from inside the house.
With the opener disconnected, a door on working springs should feel light.
One side rises higher than the other when a spring or cable on one side has let go.
A gap of a couple of inches in the coil of a torsion spring above the door.
A broken spring can let a cable unwind from its drum.
Or the opener strains and stops halfway.
What we replace
Most Mississauga homes have torsion springs, the coiled bars mounted above the door. Older or lighter doors may have extension springs that run along the sides of the track. We replace both kinds.
If your door has two springs, we replace both at the same time. They're the same age and under the same stress, so when one goes the other is close behind. Doing both keeps the door balanced and saves you a second emergency call. We also check the cables, drums and bearings while we're there.

Winter
Springs are wound steel, and steel becomes more brittle as it gets colder. A spring that has been wearing for years often lets go on the first hard freeze, which is why calls spike on cold mornings in January and February. Thicker, cold grease makes the door harder to lift, which adds more strain.
If your door is noisy, slow or you've replaced nothing in years, book our $99 winter tune-up before the cold snaps. It includes a spring and cable inspection. The offer ends December 31.
Why not replace a spring yourself? Torsion springs hold a lot of stored energy. A slipped winding bar can cause serious injuries, and the wrong size spring leaves the door unbalanced and hard on the opener. This is one repair we always recommend leaving to a trained technician.

Backed by our team
Every spring and cable we install is covered by our 3-year warranty on replaced parts. We're BBB Accredited (since June 2026).
We don't recommend it. A door with a broken spring is very heavy, and lifting it by hand or with the opener can hurt you or damage the door. If you have to get a car out, call us and ask about the safest way until we arrive.
Most single-door spring replacements take about an hour once the technician is on site. A double door or a door with damaged cables can take a little longer.
Yes. Spring failures don't pick a time, so our emergency service runs 24/7.
Yes, on a two-spring door. They wear together, and replacing both keeps the door balanced.
If the opener motor runs but the door barely moves, the springs are usually the cause. If nothing happens at all, it's more likely power, a remote or a sensor problem, and our technician will check each.
